New Years Eve!

My shorts suit is getting its first outing! I've paired my patterned shorts and jacket (minus the jacket in ze photo) with a deep navy blouse from my favourite shop Om Diva. I like wearing shorts on nights out as it gives me more versatility to boogie! Have a great New Years everyone!

Shorts suit. Oh yeh. We may be in the depths of winters, however, we are also in the midst of the infamous January Sales....dun dun duuuun. My recent purchase was this patterned suit from River Island. I am a slave to fashion at the worst times as I saw this quirky number and just had to take it home with me. I love how they can be used as separates or together for that wow-factor! Happy Shopping!

Christmas Day

It's the most wonderful time of the year... Therefore, this calls for an equally great dress! After countless hours of tearful searching, I found this little number in Awear. It has sort of a tapestry look about which I love doubled with the rich red colour and the hint of black jewels at the neckline. Not much room to spare sadly for all those Christmas food delights though!

Friday 21 December 2012

Tis the season to be ice-skating! This festive activity therefore, calls for a skater skirt! Mine is a much loved black 'leather-look-lace' garment from River Island. Swishy skirts make the whole experience extra fun! My patterned, button-up shirt is my Nanny's old shirt. Although, it was a tad chilly gliding about, my man-jumper (again) from River Island kept me toastie while on the ice.

So I took part in a styling competition for an online store called 9crowstreet and here is the result. I thought I'd stick with my hippie vibes and go for a more day time wanderer look. Although, you can't really see my cute little flowery garland...ah well! If you like what you see, you can go onto the link below and give it an ole like :D Many thanks in advance!

Friday 9 November 2012

I have been creepin' on creepers for a long time now.
Okay, it's not what you think. Creepers, as shoes have enticed me for awhile yet I have not been the proud owner of a pair til this fine day. Prompted by my need to address the serious issue of my lack of decent shoes; I browsed the endless glass displays laden down with various shoes of all shapes and sizes. Having been unsuccessful with a pair of blue creepers (damn shoe sizes), I soldiered on and found this handsome couple. That Christmas feeling is a'brewing and these cutesie, red beauties go with my curent festive feelings! I'm currently mentally going through my wardrobe and matching shoes to outfits already!
Do the creep.

Wednesday 7 November 2012

As I have already stated, winter is apon us! I can now fully embrace my obsession with jumpers. Having decided to reveal a selection of my beloved woolen 'pullies', I went with my three favourites. The first is a striped white and turquoise number that I found strewn in a basket at a flea market. You can find gems in these places, people! The second is my worn-to-threads man jumper...no, really...it's from the mens section in good ole Penneys, complete with unusual brown suede elbow patches. Because, as a man, you gotta have elbow patches. The third (red three-quarter length sweater) hails from Zara and I picked it up last year on a surprisingly cold trip to Germany.
Again, let me reiterate my passion for these comfy creations. Buy a jumper this winter! They won't let you down. Throw them over any outfit and look fabulous while warm. They can even be worn as dresses in themselves but I wouldn't recommend that for the faint-hearted!

Get yo'self a mahoosive jumper guys!

Sunday 4 November 2012

Winder wonderlands require winter woolies. Fashion comes and goes but the truth of the matter is, you gotta stay warm! I grabbed myself this lovely gray with red smiley faces hat from Penneys. Get out and get yourself some woolen head guards people!

Saturday 13 October 2012

Glasses. Hell yes they are a fashion item! Since the tender age of ten, I have been ridden with poor eyesight. However, getting to wear seriously stylish specs is a major plus. Everyone seems to be obsessed with chunky frames lately and I'm afraid my spectacle choice did allude to this trend. Designed by 'Red or Dead', with purple-y frames, what's not to love? Whoever said glasses aren't cool and stylin'?
Should've gone to Specsavers.....

Wednesday 3 October 2012

Kids party themed fundraiser! Awh yeh! My look for the night was indeed 'cutesy doll'. Hair in artistically arranged bunches and navy hair bow, I was ready to party. Make-up was another aspect. Spiky lashes, red lips and rosy cheeks, throw on a red jumpsuit and get going with those children's games!

Thursday 20 September 2012

Mardi Gras night! Raving carnival nights need cool facepaint, it's like a law for goodness sake! A lovely girl did mine for me and I was ready to party! My 'Hamlet' dress is from Om Diva which I paired with black tights and beaten-up Converse (hey I'm not dancing in heels!).

Monday 17 September 2012

Arrived at the college orientation station today. Unsure of what to wear, I decided upon a slightly 'mullet-esque' approach. Business on the top.....party on the bottom! As I am now a college girl, my pinky-purple blouse from Penney's and the infamous blazer from Berska made an appearance to smarten up my style. My Urban Outfitters shorty distressd shorts grunged down my third-level look. Bring on Freshers Week!

Tuesday 11 September 2012

Patterns are everywhere. You can pair them with some lovely pastels or neutrals or as I have done today.....clash them! My lil heart patterned shorts are from 'H&M' and my top is from a great vintage shop in town called 'Om Diva'. Together they form the power team for my adventure in town. Always have some clothes ready in your clash stash!

Friday 7 September 2012

Hair hair hair hair hair hair hair ooooooh! Sorry, I'll refrain from sing-typing show tunes......for now.
Anyway, any good, self-respecting hippie is nothing without their lustrous locks. The full-stop to any of my bohemian outfits is my blonde messy mane. To achieve this, I wash my hair with some sort of volumising shampoo, stick my head under the hairdryer and spray it with some 'sea-salt spray'. Add Bob Dylan tshirt and you're good to go!

Wednesday 5 September 2012

Electric Picnic you beautiful creature. It may have been gorgeous but it was pretty difficult to keep yourself looking fine in the muck and dirt! I did my hair in loads of plaits to keep it off my face and to show the festival vibe! Flowers are a must. Top tip: although, jumpsuits may look cool, they are not your friend in porta-loos! Festivals are an opportunity to go crazy with your style so do what you want, no one will care! I brought a vintage shirt to throw over my outfits when it got a bit chilly and wellington boots are your life whilst you are there!

Wednesday 29 August 2012

The Debutante Ball beckoned. Whilst holidaying in America with the family, my father suggested I try this silver, extremely sparkly Ralph Lauren evening dress on. Although, skeptical at first, once I put it on I was sold. This designer dress was sold at a steal in the sales and I adore it. My shoes are Steve Madden and much to my surprise I was able to keep them on until 2.30am! My bag is from Tk Maxx and I completed my 40's movie star look with curls and red lips.

Wednesday 22 August 2012

Blazers. A wise friend once told me "if in doubt, buy the blazer". Truer words were never spoken. The humble blazer jacket can be paired with just about anything. You have the close fit that suits a more sophisticated look without trying too hard and can be worn with a pretty skirt. In addition, it can be thrown over a jeans and t-shirt ensemble for a casual yet awesome collaboration! Genius!

Also, I feel a bit like Cailin Hill. Which is always a good thing.

Sunday 19 August 2012

Sometimes you just have to let your homemade t-shirts do the talking.

Saturday 18 August 2012

Obsessions are a tricky business. One of mine has to be feather earrings. Feather earrings are an intense passion and way of life for me. My trick is to wear one gigantic feather in one ear lobe (preferably my right ear if you're wondering) and a stud/non dangly earring in the other. My thing is definitely to change up my look by wearing lots of different earrings at the same time! So change it up and have fun!

Sunday 12 August 2012

My favourite accessory today? Has to be my fav ukulele 'Duke the Uke'! I got it in a great London shop called 'The Duke of Uke'. http://www.dukeofuke.co.uk/
Apparently, John Lennon got his first guitar in this very place...so I guess that's why I feel extra cool for strumming this beautiful instrument. After watching a guy playing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' on his uke, I knew this was the thing for me to learn! Following many hours and of chord sheet searching, video watching and tuning, I have turned into quite the uke enthusiast. Give it a go people!

Excuse me, I moustache you a question......never mind I'll shave it for later.  Shameless, I know. But I have decided that the new accessory for any self-respecting fashinista is in fact the humble moustache. They may attract unusual looks from onlookers, however, you can hold your head up high in the knowledge that underneath it all, they wish they had awoken and slapped a fake moustache on their face too. ;{P

Thursday 9 August 2012

This right here is my (soppily called) inspiration board. I thought I'd share this poster as it contains some of my hopes and dreams and motivational comments. Many of the things shown are bits and bobs lovingly ripped from magazines or newspapers that I found beautiful or relative to my life. I have my Oscar winners, Ms Portman, Ms Theron and Mr Plummer, as inspiration and motivation for the aspiring actor that is myself. I found these actors to be handworking and creative and therefore, hopefully, I can represent the acting craft in a small way one day.

Tuesday 7 August 2012

Floral fancies today! This orange flowery top is from good ole Penneys and is worn over a long sleeve t-shirt for a chilly Irish outing. My deep maroon corduroy trousers are seriously comfy while still appearing like I've made an effort. They have been worn by myself to a few drama workshops and have not hindered the running/jumping/skipping/general frivolity therefore, I would recommend a good pair of tapered trousers for sheer versatility and style. The collared top adds an element of menswear and tailoring while the Converse keep it fun and youthful. Now to find a place to skip to!

Sunday 5 August 2012

Dublin Zombie Walk. Indeed, not words one often hears on a day-to-day basis. But on the 4th August, myself and some few thousand other souls donned our finest dead gear and blood to raise awareness and money for charity. I used an old green dress and splattered myself with the red stuff! My make-up, however, was the most fun part! I achieved the wounded-axe-wielding-human-attacked-zombie-look with simple make-up. Using sculpting wax, I created the cut by smoothing it onto my forehead and allowing the inner corners to be raised up. Blue, purple and black eye-shadow filled in the wound and the surrounding skin to show a bruised effect. Dollops of fake gloopy blood completed the look for the perfect zombiefied face!

Thursday 2 August 2012

Distressed double denim. Yes I went there. My outfit was in keeping again with the double denim trend but really in my own hobo-boho way! My graphic t-shirt peers out from behind my Om Diva jacket and is tucked into my Urban Outfitters shorts. Purple legs (okay tights!) and good 'ole Cons complete my look. With my tights and t-shirt I didn't appear too homeless but I loved the worn garments that brought me around on my day in town.

Wednesday 1 August 2012

Typical uniform of a modern hippie goin' on today.
I got my Bobby D t-shirt and 'Dreamer' cardigan in a brilliant American shop called 'PacSun'. It is one of my life ambitions to one day own all that this particular haven stocks. On a more serious fashion note (heh), I think it's important to balance out one's outfits. I have my oversized print t-shirt and comfy cardigan on top and keep the outfit looking 'together' with my maroon skinnies (from Berska) and Bass brown leather boots. While still going out and attempting to look good on the streets of Dublin, I'm staying relaxing and keeping with my hippie persona.

Friday 27 July 2012

Job interview, day out, luncheon.....you want a look that brings you anywhere. My little blood-red number from New Look did just that. A shining sun is well and good paired with the dress's a-line short skirt but the crafty Irish breezes were cleverly dealt with by three-quarter sleeves that also balanced the outfit out nicely. A pair of baby blue tights and monochrome brogues joined the ensemble to create a versatile look to take me from interview to mooching about while still resembling a professional yet stylish sun seeker.

Wednesday 25 July 2012

Double denim is stealing the trends this summer. After spending a bobbing about the house, appreciating some old Rolling Stones records, this trend definitely had to make an appearance. I paired my favie Levi skinnies with a Topshop cream lace top and a distressed denim jacket from Om Diva to complete the look. Rock 'n' roll rebel here I come.

Tuesday 24 July 2012

In keeping with my idea of street style simplicity (with occasional outbursts of fashion madness) I found this simple cobalt blue dress perfect for the day of job-hunting ahead! Once you have this kind of foundation -I love how I have begun describing myself as a house!- you can take any turn on the style path so to speak. I threw it on over black tights and some brown leather boots...ready to rock 'n' roll. Also I would like to believe that I am attempting a stance of showing off the dress in this photo and do not in fact resemble a sophisticated little teapot...

Monday 23 July 2012

Ah summer! Prompted by the glorious sunshine, indeed a breezy dress was the order of the day. I like this particular number as the lace detail is in keeping with the ever popular White Lace Summer Dress while the orange skirt bursts out from the waist and shouts "Here I am!". Summer is a chance to mix it up on the sunny street or the crowded coffee cave!

Sunday 22 July 2012

Okay, to start off: I love street style. When I see an outfit that is simple and harmonious, it fills me with burberry dreams! A perfectly thrown together look is the epitome of well-executed outfit in my mind. The Burberry girl/guy slinks from bed to street after selecting beloved pieces of clothing and effortlessly manages to shine to the rest of the world.....or street.
